What is Manglik Dosha?
Manglik Dosha (also called Mangal Dosha or Kuja Dosha) is a Vedic astrological condition where Mars (Mangal) sits in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of a birth chart. Classical texts like the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and Phaladeepika consider these placements consequential for marital harmony — Mars is a fiery, impulsive planet, and these are the houses governing self, family, peace, partnership, longevity, and the bedroom.
How is it checked?
A precise Manglik check is done from three reference points — the Lagna (Ascendant), the Chandra Lagna (Moon), and sometimes the Sukra Lagna (Venus). This calculator uses the first two, which carry the bulk of the dosha's weight in classical analysis. If Mars activates a Manglik house from both Lagna and Moon — or sits in the 7th or 8th from the Lagna — the dosha is read as strong. If only one reference is hit, it is partial.
What about cancellations?
